ASSERT, away slowly and outrun to the last quarter mile, responded to punishment during the stretch run and wore down the leaders in the last seventy yards. FIGHTING ANNIE moved up strongly in the early stretch, reached the lead between calls near the finish but could not withstand the winner. E-TOWN took command .after going three-eighths mile, entered the stretch with a good lead, then faltered. RECONTROL finished fast in the middle of the track. I DARE YOU failed to stay when set down for the drive. MISS BUNNY raced wide. COMENOT had early speed. BELLE GRAND was outrun. ON PARADE was through early. EYEMOOR showed nothing. The latter raced evenly for a half mile, closed strongly under urging but could not reach the top one. MUSIC finished fast in a good effort and had no mishap. SLUMBERLAND faltered during the stretch run. LEIBESKIND was outrun. MARY LIKE could not keep up after showing early speed. LUCKY CHIPS raced wide throughout. SANA PANA showed nothing. FLORAL TRAIL engaged PAMARIS for a half mile, then gave way. MISS ZILT, forced wide at the first turn, failed to recover. The latter, racing wide from the outset, finished fast but could not reach the winner. SU-JAY, bumped by BLIP after the break, recovered under good handling and established a clear lead before reaching the stretch but failed to stay when set down in the drive. LADY ELECT made a good bid in the early stretch, then weakened. BLIP bumped SU-JAY after the break, then dropped far back and failed to recover. LA MACHINE had early speed. TALO MOR began fast but dropped out of serious contention immediately after the .start. FREADA W. was through early.
