Fairmount Park Wagering Up Almost 1 2 Per Cent Over 1 952 FAIRMOUNT PARK, Collinsville, HI., Aug. 27. After 13 days of the summer meeting at Fairmount Park betting is up 11.8 per cent over the 1952 session, according to figures released by general manager Edwin C. Moon. The total handle to date has swelled to ,525,154 while a year ago the total was ,152,073. The daily average is 71,166 compared to last years 42,467. The turnstiles show 79,259 persons having paid to see the 53 races while at this time a year ago 70,265 turf followers had visited the Collinsville track. This stands for a 12 per cent increase and brings the average crowd this summer to 6,097 while last year the daily turnouts were 5,405.
