Legere; bred by R. S. Howard. REACHED POST-5:29. OFF AT 5:30 EASTERN DAYLIGHT TIME. Start good from stall gate. Won driving; second and third the same. FRAN JR. drew clear soon after the start, turned back repeated challenges on the far turn and into the stretch, gave way momentarily in the stretch, responded to stout urging to regain the lead and drifted out gradually while outfinishing AFRICANCE. The latter forced the pace from the outset, engaging for command after six furlongs and was forced wide in the late stages. The rider of AFRICANCE claimed a foul against the winner and after examination of the film of the race, the stewards disqualified FRAN JR. and placed him second. NEWS AGAIN, never far off the pace, rallied in the stretch and showed an even effort. DARE DEVIL was unable to threaten with a late rush. Scratched 98976 Tickie 0., 100; 98065 Clover Lady, 105. Dishong; bred by Mrs. J. D. S. Coleman. REACHED POST-6:07. OFF AT 6:08 EASTERN DAYLIGHT TIME. Start good from stall gate. Won driving; second and third the same. TONIGHT, forwardly placed under stout restraint, dropped back steadily, was kept on the outside making the final turn, responded when set down and outfinished FOLLY MILLS. The latter in hand while kept within striking distance of the pace, came between horses in the stretch to vie for command and just missed. MONEY DOWN rushed boldly after five furlongs came inside to near the leaders and closed stoutly. HASTI NIGHT assumed an early lead under restraint, dropped back down the backstretch, was sent through along the inside to regain the lead and drew out and then faltered. HIGH JACKIE weakened. DOM W. rallied to near the leader after a half mile, continued on gamely to the final furlong and weakened. ON SPECK flattened out. RIPPLE AIR stopped. Overweight Folly Mills, 2 pounds.
