Halter Favors Local Track Halter has always been particularly fond of the local track and has a pair of victories in as; many starts this meeting1. In accomplishing his initial victory, the Haltal six-year-old was caught in. record-breaking time of 1:23, then came back at six furlong to win in 1:12 over a. good track. Winning Stride and Jubling have not raced since the Mermaid, in which they were third and seventh, respectively. Winning Stride, who beat Sickles Image on, that occasion, had previously scored in. 1:11 at Monmouth Park, while Jublings lone score came in 1 : 10 at Arlington Park. The three-year-old Main Bout is a shifty sort but may have his work cut out for him tomorrow. He fared poorly at a mile and a sixteenth earlier in the meeting, then had the misfortune of tangling with Tuscany when dropped back to six furlongs. He finished second in that dash, being five lengths behind Mrs. Pistorios frequent stakes winner. Elixir is another who was overshadowed by the speed of Tuscany last out, having finished seventh behind the son of The Rhymer in a division of the Boardwalk Handicap on the grass. He is, however, a four-time winner this term, as are Elias G., Four Chances and Outback. Faraway has raced but five times this year and boasts a pair of victories, while Bea Marony has been third or better in 11 of her 19 starts.
