BIG EYED soon sprinted into a good lead and was never in serious danger of losing command, although ridden out-near the end, to hold HIGH DRIFT. The latter saved ground while being outrun and closing with determination on the inside was gaining. ACTUATE was closest to BIG EYED in the early running but faltered in the final drive. LITTLE BURG began slowly and was required to race wide to reach contention but failed to offer a serious threat. BATTLE KING had some early speed. DADS DEGREE was never a serious factor. Start good from stall gate. Won driving; third the same. MISS PIGTAIL was fairly close to the pace in the early part and, coming to the outside in the stretch, closed fast to be up in time to get a dead-heat with SWIVEL HIPS. The latter was a good contender from the start and held on courageously in the final drive. RUNACROSS cut to the inside on the far turn and continued next the rail thereafter to take a short lead in the closing stages, but was unable to last. HALE N HEARTY had the most early foot, but weakened slightly when challenged by RUNACROSS. HUSKIN BEE failed to be prominent, although finishing fairly well. DEAR SANDY raced wide in the stretch. PEACE JITTERS dropped back after breaking well, then saved ground to reach contention and, moving up on tfie inside after entering the stretch, got to the front near the end to best LIVING DOLL. The latter raced wide in the stretch and appeared to be Jostled an eighth out, but continued strongly in a good effort. IN FORM went to the front early to set the pace under restraint, then opened up in the stretch while saving ground, but tired badly in the last sixteenth. MOTHER MORRIS, off quickly was unable to remain in front but followed the pace closely, and coming out for the stretch run, wore down MARABOUT to best him in a drive. MARABOUT dashed up on the outside soon after the start, saved ground1 in the stretch and held on with good courage in the final drive. MARCY N. entered the stretch on the outside of the leaders and loomed up as a serious threat entering the last sixteenth, but was unable to carry through. SCOTIA had early speed while racing on the inside but dropped back after leaving the backstretch and was not dangerous thereafter. CLOWNESS was going fairly well at the end. BLENOMAR was under light restraint while following the pace of AIR FLIGHT, then shortened the margin separating him from the latter when he moved nearing the stretch turn, and although racing rather wide on the turn, forged to the front an eighth out and was not in trouble although ridden out. ADAMS OFF OX trailed to the stretch, then came fast in the middle of the track and was gaining. TAHITIAN saved ground nearing the stretch turn to move up and raced well thereafter.
