LITTLE FERD assumed command when set down, increased the advantage under pressure and withstood the rally of GOLD QUEST. The latter worked her way up on the outside to loom as a threat and went evenly in the late stages. GWEN rallied mildly in the closing furlong. PAULA M. showed speed in the early stages, retiring gradually -after losing the lead. SWEETEST MUSIC was unable to keep up. DONOGLEN went evenly. CAROLINA MOON saved ground to no avail. MARILU DORSETT, unhurried while allowed to settle into best stride, moved into contention with a rush along the inside, responded to steady pressure through the stretch and drew out at the end. FORT MONMOUTH, close up while forcing the pace, moved into command under steady urging, but was not good enough. AGI-GEMMA rallied mildly to better late position. TURNER HILL established the pace for seven furlongs and retired. CATALPA caught tiring horses. CARROUSEL had no mishap. MAKES SENSE showed nothing. ON THE TOWN was never prominent. AUNT DINAH broke alertly, was kept within striking distance of the leaders, slipped through along the inside as the leaders drifted out, assumed command and drew out steadily under constant urging. UNCLE JAY assumed command soon after the start, dominated the pace until the final turn, moved out to the middle of the track and was no match for the winner. IM FRED closed with a belated rush from off the pace. TENURE, roused early to challenge for command, was forced to go wide and failed to recover. ROY PRINCE ranged up on the outside of the leaders, lost ground on the turns and lacked a late rally. POLILME went evenly. The others were outrun. SIR FAY, taken under steadying restraint soon after the start, was kept in hand until the final quarter mile, responded readily when roused to overtake the leader and drew out at the end. EL PACHO, forwardly placed along the inside, rallied to engage for command, but was not good enough. IN CLASS closed with a belated rush in the stretch, being forced to take out and around horses in the final sixteenth. LORD JEFFERY broke alertly, took off the pace for three furlongs, rallied to gain the lead in the stretch and faltered.
