Cubs Send Church, Edwards, Robertson to Los Angeles LOS ANGELES, Calif., May 24 UP .— The Los Angeles Angels today announced they were receiving three players on option from the Chicago Cubs and were optioning three players to make room for the new men. Chief help to the coast league team was expected to be pitcher Bubba Church, who had a 7-8 record last year with the Cubs and with Cincinnati. The 29-year-old pitcher for several seasons was a mainstay of the Cincinnati mound staff. Others acquired by Los Angeles were outfielder Don Robertson, in service for the past two years, and infielder Bruce Edwards who managed Des Moines last sea- son and has been in Des Moines this year awaiting assignment.
