Hasseyampa, Admiral Porter Arrive at Crete for Peabody LINCOLN FIELDS, Crete, 111., May 24.— Hasseyampa, third in the Preakness last Saturday, also third in the Kentucky Derby, arrived at Lincoln Fields from Pimlico today to keep his engagement in the 5,000 Peabody Memorial Stakes next Monday. The Walmac Farm colt, owned and bred by the Chicagoan, R.W. Mcllvain, made an uneventful trip by rail from Baltimore via the Pennsylvania. His trainer, Howard Wells, who saddled Hasseyampa for the Preakness, and whose big stable is now at Lincoln Fields, arrived at the Crete track a few hours before the colt. Sunny Blue Farms Admiral Porter, who finished unplaced in the Preakness, was another arrival at Lincoln Fields. He, too, is pointing for the mile and one-eighth Peabody, traditional Memorial Day feature at Lincoln Fields. He was fifth in the Derby. Still another Peabody candidate to put in his appearance today was A. B. Karles Tyner, whose two recent wins encouraged his owner to nominate him for the Lincoln Fields three-year-old fixture.
