SCRIPT BAR was always close to the pace and, moving with good courage through the stretch, overtook WATCH TOY, but was doing her best to hold AIRPAK. The latter was outrun to the final eighth, then came with good courage and was gaining. WATCH TOY forged to the front of the early leaders after entering the stretch and held on fairly well. MARTIN WHELAN found the distance a little too much. NICE TRY was unable to keep up. COURTS MAUDE had early speed. BASHFUL SUN was outpaced. FEUD was closest to TEXAS FLASH while the latter was making the pace and forged to the front after entering the last sixteenth, then went strongly to the end, but was doing his best. 0 KAYS SON was taken in hand of a necessity when in close quarters from the start, then raced far back to the stretch to take to the outside of the leaders at midstretch and finished strongly in an exceptionally good effort. BRASSY broke well and had fair speed to the stretch, then weakened. MUCHO FRIO went steadily. TEXAS FLASH had good speed for six furlongs, then tired. TICKER TAPE was taken up at the start to avoid an accident when SLICK KNIGHT, breaking from the inside of him, lost his rider. RITE-ONE headed CAROL S. after going a short distance and going in good form increased her advantage gradually to win easily. PHIL QUAGLINO moved up on the outside nearing the stretch turn and raced well thereafter. KING FIDDLE saved ground in the stretch to close with good courage. CAROL S. weakened in the run home. DESTINO MISS tired. PINE FOREST broke well but soon dropped out of it. PHILIPS PAL UNSEATED HIS RIDER AT THE START, GALLOPED OFF SIX FURLONGS BEFORE THE START -AND WAS ORDERED WITHDRAWN BY THE STEWARDS AND MONEY WAGERED ON HIM WAS REFUNDED. ENCASED moved to a contending position soon after the start and catching WISHBONE H while racing on the outside after entering the stretch, shook off the latter following a brief struggle and was under pressure at the end. RUBES FOLLY improved his position after entering the stretch and was gaining at the end. WISHBONE H got to the front early to draw out slightly after leaving the backstretch, then saved ground in the stretch to resist rather stubbornly but was faltering at the finish. KING soon dashed to the front, and well rated while making the pace, was never in danger of losing the leadership, drawing out near the end. ALSAB ACE made a fairly good bid in the stretch and was by far the best of the others. LOTASMOKE moved up nearing the stretch turn but lacked much finishing power. CHANCE SNOW came again fairly well after dropping back. NOTABLE lacked early speed, raced wide in- the stretch and was never dangerous. TWEETY TWOM had some early speed. LA RONDE, in rather tight quarters nearing the far turn, was required to be steadied when taken to the outside in the stretch, and closing with good courage, forged to the front in the final sixteenth and was going away at the end. FULVOUS was a good contender while racing on the outside and topped ROMAN WARBLER after entering the stretch, but lacked the necessary strength to resist the winner. SHERRY L. was never too far away and held on gamely. ROMAN WARBLER tired in the stretch. BETSY T turned in a creditable race. BLOOM was badly outrun in a dull effort. MIMI MINE was closest to SET SHOT while the latter was making the pace, and passing him in the stretch, opened up a good lead but was being ridden out at the end. RUHE dropped out of it at once, and was far out of it to the stretch, then was unable to find an opening on the inside while moving and was steered to the outside in the last sixteenth. He finished rapidly and might have won in a few more strides. VIXEN FIXIT was always a good contender. SET SHOT had something removed making the pace and weakened. The others were unable to keep up.
