Announce List of Officials For River Downs Meeting CINCINNATI, Ohio, May 24. — Racing director Henry Green has announced the official family for the forthcoming 44-day River Downs meeting, opening Friday, June 4. Back again in the stewards stand will be the veterans Tom Sanford, Monte Weil and E. W. Stribling. This trio has seen many years of service in this and various other capacities and are well versed on the subject of racing. Local fans, too, are familiar with their ability to preside in the pagoda. Eugene W. Bury, who has provided thrilling race programs at many tracks, will again serve as secretary and handicapper, while dispatching the fields from the gate, will find another keen veteran in starter Tom Brown. Others in the official line-up are timer Tack Trimpe, clerk of scale R. Wymer, and paddock judge Chloe Keller. Serving as tote manager will be George Reverman, a seasoned campaigner. Gene Schmitt, the announcer, is returning for his umpteenth season in handling the loud speaker in describing the races daily. Racing director Henry Green in mulling over the 1953 figures, which saw many records in attendance and wagering shattered, is optimistic over the 1954 session and he stated, "with a break in the weather this should be our banner session."
