Tuckerman Named Steward SUFFOIiK DOWNS, East Boston, Mass?, May 24. — Bayard Tuckerman Jr., pioneer New England horseman, breeder and member of The Jockey Club, has been named to replace steward R. Norman Charlton for the remainder of the Suffolk Downs spring meeting. Charlton leaves tomorrow for Waterford Park, Chester, W. Va., where he fills a similar role. Tuckerman, who was in the stewards stand when Suffolk Downs, opened its gates in 1935, has been a member of the State Racing Commission and at one time was president of this seaside course.
