Longden in England to Ride Blue Sail in June 2 Derby Special to Daily Racing Form LONDON, England, May 24 Reuters .— The veteran American saddle ace, Johnny Longden, arrived by Pan American Clipper at London airport this afternoon. Longden has made the trip to ride Alberta Ranches Blue Sail in the Epsom Derby on Wednesday, June 2. His wife, Hazel, who was at the airport to meet him told Longden that a "Victory" party already has been arranged in a London hotel. To this Johnny said: "We will have to wait and see." It is understood here that Longden may go across to Ireland to ride Sound Barrier, one of Paddy Prendergasts four runners in the Irish Two Thousand Guineas classic at The Curragh, County Kildare, this Wednesday, May 26. Longden is leaving here Tuesday for Ireland to see Blue Sail. When asked what he thought about his mounts possibilities, Longden said, "Not having seen the colt I cant say anything about my chances yet and I am not giving any tips." "I think the Epsom Derby will be my only race here," added Johnny.
