List Twenty-Six Final Acceptors in Epsom Derby Ambler II., Blue Prince II. and Never Say Die American Hopes Special to Daily Racing Form LONDON, England, May 26 Reuters . — Belair Studs Ambler II., his Newmarket stablemate, Walter Jeffords Blue Prince II., Robert Sterling Clarks Never Say Die and all leading candidates for next weeks Epsom Derby are in the final acceptors announced here today. Only 26, however, of the original entry list of 400 have been left in the race and the field will fall well below the record. The biggest number of starters was 33 in 1951 and 1952. The slender acceptance is surprising. The race seems so open that owners of even forlorn long shots had been expected to let them take their chance. This years JL75th renewal of the famed classic will beworth 6,196 compared with the record 7,816 in 1952 when Tulyar triumphed. The winning owner will receive 7,765 with the ,619 for second and ,810 "for third. Queen Elizabeth also will have a representative in the Epsom Oaks — Angel Bright. Mrs. Elizabeth Grahams Hyperion filly, Hypera, is one of the 24 acceptors for the fillies classic which will be worth 5,536. The winning owner here will receive 9,555.
