Jay Jay Gee Returns to Action Today 1953 Miss America Winner Meets Ten Illinois-Bred Has Galikist, Golly# Swivel Hips as Foes in Lincolns Flossmoor Purse LINCOLN FIELDS, Crete, 111., May 26.— Three-year-old fillies occupy the limelight at Lincoln Fields on Thursday, 11 of that age and sex having been entered for the feature attraction of the day, the six-furlong Flossmoor Purse. The Thursday feature marks the return to competition of Woodview Farms good Illinois-bred filly, Jay Jay Gee, winner of Lincoln Fields Miss America Stakes last year in which she beat Hasty House Farms Queen Hopeful. The daughter of Littletown — Alwick has not started since last August at Washington Park when she was fifth in a division of the Mademoiselle Stakes in which Queen Hopeful and Greek Lady finished first in a dead heat. The Woodview filly made the early pace, but faltered in the later stages. After the race it was discovered she had been injured and she was put away for a long rest. She has turned in some good moves in works preparatory to her return to the races. This morning she breezed three-eighths in :35%. Jay Jay Gee finds the Flossmoor no soft spot for her return to competition, as she meets competent opponents in the feature. They include Mrs. Elizabeth Brisbines Golly, Valley View Farms Galikist, Sunny Blue Farms Resplendent, James Emerys Cosentina, J. G. Smiths Paris Fleet, Reverie Knoll Farms Swivel Hips, G. A. Cavanaughs Blue Violin, T. G. Bensons Gorgeous Miss, and Mrs. O. S. Demings Sherry Jen and Flight Again. Golly 1953 Debutante Winner Golly, bred by her owner, Mrs. Brisbine, who resides in Wilmelte, 111., won the Debutante Stakes at Churchill Downs last year. She also won a division of the Thoroughbred " Club of America Dinner Purse at Keeneland. Galikist, winner of one race last season, is a much improved filly this year. Having won five races since launching her new campaign. Swivel Hips was an impressive winner here at Lincoln Fields last Saturday. It was her first win in five starts this year. Resplendent, a daughter of Revoked, out of Ever After, has won once in four starts during the current year, scoring that victory by six lengths. She finished second to Swivel Hips in a division of the Steger Purse Saturday. Last year she started only four times, winning once. Gorgeous Miss was unplaced behind Swivel Hips on the recent week end. - Sherry Jens three victories last year included the Gulfstream Turf Club Dinner Stakes. Her entry mate, Flight Again, also is a winner, but neither has earned new brackets yet this year. In nine starts this year Cosentina has one win credited to, her, but that came as the result of the disqualification of Dawn Hop, who finished first in a race at Gulf-stream Park on March 18. Cosentina is by Teddys Comet, who ran a dead heat with Tiger in winning the Arlington Futurity in 1937. Her dam was. the popular Chicago race mare, Dolly Val. Blue Violin and Paris Fleet are both good winners. The former won her latest race on April 9.
