Trainer Frank Catrone shipped a draft of the Circle M Farm horses to Delaware Park to await that meeting. Billie and Allie Reuben of Toledo, Ohio, who race under the nom de course of the Hasty House Farm, checked in to await the running of the Coaching Club American Oaks in which they will be represented by Queen Hopeful . . . Mr. and Mrs. B. W. Miller of Pittsburgh, Pa., are recent arrivals and plan to stay for some time. They are guests of Mr. and Mrs. Jack Skirvin . . . Trainer Merritt Buxton shipped a draft of horses to Pimlico . . . Nor-fleet Rand of St. Ijouis, Mo., was a . first-time visitor yesterday to visit his brother, Frank, who has a draft of horses in training. The visitor who is in the leather business in the Missouri city had never seen his brothers horses in action until yesterday . . . W. R. Prestridge, one of the co-owners of the Saxon Stable, following a visit here returned to his New Mexico home, but promised to be back for a visit to Saratoga Springs. Trainer George JVI. Odom will ship Jet Master, owned by the Marlboro Stud to Delaware Park for the inaugural at that meeting . . . Apprentice Heine Mikkonen, under contract to the Lazy F Ranch, will hereafter be programmed as Ray. The boy made the change yesterday explaining that everyone called him Ray instead of his ancestral Nordic name, unpronounceable to the jockey room attaches . . . Tommy Montgomery, postmaster at Tropical Park, checked in yesterday for his first visit . . . Trainer Frank Christmas shipped a draft of horses to Garden State for immediate engagements . . . Trainer Sol Rutchick shipped nine horses to Delaware Park for Tacing there . . . Jockey Eric. Guerin checked out to New Jersey for riding engagements in a two-year-old event. Jockey Conn Errico, who suffered a spinal disc injury some time back, was among those present yesterday and hopes to resume saddling chores in the near future ... Super Star, a non-winning three-year-old of the Maine Chance Farm, was destroyed, yesterday by Dr. Reed. The colt, a son of Star Pilot and War Date, by War Admiral, started five times last year and once this year, but failed to glean any part of the purse. His death was the result of a Jractured skull suffered in his stall brought about in an odd manner. He was cross tied in his stall and one of the eyebolts holding the lead shank was imbedded in a plank of the sidewall instead of a two by four. Super Star reared and pulled the board loose and in thrashing around struck himself over the skull and also damaged an eye. Dr. Reed was called and pronounced the colt uncurable and ordered his destruction. . ♦ , - * f _,
