Open Washington Track Kitchen, Other Facilities Now Available to Horsemen With Charges There for Lincoln Meet As an additional convenience to the unusual number of horsemen whose thoroughbreds are now stabled at Washington Park, the recently built track kitchen and recreation quarters were opened Wednesday at the Homewood course, it was announced by executive director Benjamin F. Lindheimer. Washington Park, which does not open its own, meeting untli August 4, now is stabling in excess of 700 horses for the current Lincoln Fields meeting. "We were unable to anticipate this unprecedented number of horses stabled at Washington Park," Lindheimer said, "and we know it poses a problem for the horsemen and stable personnel. "In order to provide them with proper and complete dining and recreation, we are opening both those facilities. Whalejn. and Silverberg, our concessionaires who now are preparing to serve both the public and horsemen for the coming Arlington Park meeting, have co-operated and assisted us in providing this convenience at Washington Park during the spring." Other customary recreational facilities also will be made available to stable personnel at Washington Park, including television, softball. diamonds, horseshoe pitching and possibly free movies, if arrangements can be made in time.
