NECKTIE, reserved lightly behind the leaders, responded to strong hand urging in the final three-sixteenths, wrested command in the last seventy yards and withstood BETTER GOODS. The latter, taken in hand at the start, trailed into the stretch, then dosed with a rush in the middle of the course. FULL BROTHER was under snug restraint racing within striking distance, made a bold bid when set down for the stretch run, but hung. DANDOLO maintained a short advantage racing on the outside of ROMAN ROCKET, shook off that one to draw clear entering the stretch and weakened only in the last yards.
