Popara to Ride at Washington CHURCHILL DOWNS, Louisville, Ky., May 11. — Jockey Alfred Popara will journey to Illinois after the close of the current Downs season, according to word from his agent, Gilbert Hardy, one-time riding star. Popara plans to free lance at the Balmoral meeting which will be staged at Washington Park.
