The formation stayed that way until midway of the turn, when Evas Trance got caught in the jam and had to take up, filling out of the picture, and Prissy Missy soon after gave way. Assignment took command from Kentucky Home, while Principio closed -ground from his rear position. Down the stretch Assignment was kept about his business by Coy and had a daylight margin over Principio, whose belated challenge was not good enough. Kentucky Home was third by a safe margin.
