TOMFOOLERY stepped to the front soon after the start, attained a clear advantage entering the stretch and, though tiring slightly during the late stages, had enough left to prevail over SUYDAM. The latter closed with a belated burst of speed and was steadily wearing down the top one. FOLDING MON was unable to improve his position when hard hustled through the final furlong. MR. HERB A. had no apparent mishap. HALF MINUTE tired. GETTHERE FRANK and C0D0M0 were outrun. GRAND KERRY was through early. GLEN ALDEN trailed throughout. Overweight— Codomo, 1 pound. The latter, rank in the post parade, improved her position on the outside to the stretch, remained in the middle of the track for the drive and, under brisk urging, rapidly was wearing -down the winner. SIMPLE, much used early, had litte left when the real test came. VALCARIE rallied too late to become an endangering factor. BLUE LYRIC tired. FORMOSA, away fastest, failed to stay TAKE TWO began sluggishly. IM EXPECTIN and PET REWARD were outrun. FLYING POLE saved ground to no avail. MISS NELL never was prominent. CARAFAR, always within striking distance, forged to the front during the run down the backstretch and continued on gamely thereafter when subjected to intermittent pressure. BAVARIA moved up boldly on the outside after completing the final jump, faltered slightly thereafter and, though unable to overtake the leader, held on willingly to easily best the others. PRINCE GLORIEUX failed to respond sufficiently when shaken for the ultimate test. CAMEE was always outrun. FOLLIES BERGERE tired badly. BRECHIN bobbled and fell at the tenth obstacle. WINNING FLEET, reserved back of the early leaders, took command with a rush when ready nearing the furlong marker and retained a clear advantage thereafter when ridden out. DUSTY DRIVE, slow to gain best stride, came out to the middle of the track for the drive but, under stern punishment, was not good enough. GEORGE MURPHY unseated his rider and ran off during the post parade, raced forwardly placed to the stretch under hustling tactics, then faltered as a result of his efforts. The latter, a sharp factor from the start, relinquished the lead to the winner entering the stretch, responded readily when set down for the final test and appeared to come again in the concluding strides. NANTALLAH, away in the first flight, swerved slightly during the early running, came fast when placed to pressure during the stretch run and gradually was getting to the top ones.
