Swaps Safely Quartered In Hollywood Park Stall Derby Winners Owner, Trainer Greet Colt on Arrival From Downs By OSCAR OTIS HOLLYWOOD PARK, Inglewood, Calif., May 11.— Swaps, the first "all California" winner of the Kentucky Derby, was safely bedded down in barn 57 here today shortly after noon following an uneventful rail trip from Louisville. Trainer Mickey Tenney, owner Rex Ellsworth, and a host of Hollywood Park officials were on hand to watch Swaps unload from his express car, then make the short van trip to Hollywood Park. Owner Ellsworth and trainer Tenney were reluctant to say just when Swaps would make his seasonal debut here, but quickly glanced at a stakes book, then said that maybe the Debonair would be too close after the trip, but that it was possible Swaps might point for the Will Rogers on May 30. The Will Rogers is a mile stake for three-year-old colts and geldings, carries an added mbney purse of 5,000, and is generally considered as a major stepping stone to Hollywoods big three-year-old race of the summer, the 0,000 Westerner. Swaps was kicking and playing upon unloading from the van in the stable area, a sure indication that not noly did he emerge from the Kentucky Derby in wonderful shape, but stood the long rail trip equally well. In the same car were Jeans Joe and Blue Ruler, owned by the Murcain Stable. Jeans Joe was unsuccessful in the Derby.
