HOKEY POKEY took command at once, raced MIGHTY MOMENT quite close during the stretch run and held the latter safe but won with little left. MIGHTY MOMENT, well placed and saving ground to the stretch, was in close quarters while engaging HOKEY POKEY during the drive and could not overtake the latter, pulling up with a cut off fore fetlock. THE PRINCE, in close quarters leaving the upper turn, closed resolutely when clear but was unable to get to the leaders. MICHAEL T. W. gave a good effort and had no mishap. DARK EMBASSY was outrun. MIGHTY EPIC, forced to take up sharply when caught in tight quarters immediately after the start, failed to recover. BLUE REWARD could not keep up. SIDS PRIDE was through early. PINE THEME, alertly handled, went to the front at once, settled in the stretch with a clear lead, but was under pressure during the final furlong to hold FIGHTING JURY safe. The latter raced nearest PINE THEME from the start, closed determinedly but could not reach the latter, although easily best of the others. ELKCH ESTER saved ground at the final turn but could not reach the top pair when set down in the drive. STICKS began slowly. HAROLD L. was outrun and had no mishap. ROMA BUNNY had early speed, but tired. HARDWICKE had no mishap. TATTOO KID was never dangerous. Overweight— Fighting Jury, 1 pound; Elkchester, 2.
