HUNT PLATE was a strong contender from the start and, taking command when ready after leaving the backstretch, drew out in the stretch SCRIPT BAR gained ground gradually to finish strongly. THE SPY was closest to the early pace of OUR GIFT and went fairly well to the end. PARALYTE went evenly but did not threaten for the leadership. OUR GIFT tired badly. DUSKY DOLL moved steadily to take command after going half the distance and, shaking off FIRST GREEK in the last sixteenth, won handily. The latter set the early pace, then held on fairly well in the final run. SUPER SUE was with the leaders for the first half mile, then dropped back gradually. LOST SCARF had no apparent excuse and weakened. MISS BURKE had early speed. MR. WINSTON went very wide on the second turn. ETERNAL HOUR lacked early speed and was badly outrun to the last quarter, then came strongly on the outside through the stretch to wear down MRS. SWEENIE and win going away. The latter set the pace and raced NO PEEKY into defeat, but was unable to hold the winner. SIXTY TWO moved strongly nearing th stretch turn but failed to carry through. NELLS BOY was unable to get to the front, although racing steadily. BLUNT moved rather late and was in tight quarters on the stretch turn. RITAS FLYER had the most early , speed, but tired badly. HEUTEL was rated nicely in the first half-mile, and then responded well to reach strong contention. He came to the outside of the early leaders on the stretch turn to move fast and, getting to the front in the last sixteenth, held BILL PAC safe. The latter was badly outrun for a half-mile, but came strongly to find an opening next to the rail in the stretch and was gaining. COSENTINA was forced wide on the second turn and raced wide in the stretch, but was always a strong contender.-BLACK BANTAM moved well nearing the last turn and went in courageous fashion to the end. JUST JUDY moved to strong contention after going a half-mile and, coming resolutely on the outside through the stretch, wore down BOOKWORM to get to the front in the last twenty yards. BOOKWORM was hard held while following TANBARK and went to the front under restraint, then withstood a challenge from CLOSE OUT and held on fairly well. BEYLERBEY was never far away and saved ground on the stretch turn. CLOSE OUT drew up todBOOKWORK on the backstretch, but was repelled by the latter and weakened, swerving in the stretch. BILLTOWN was too far out of it early and, although making up some ground, was not dangerous. RENOIR was never a threat. TANBARK stopped badly. Scratched— 47949 Chara, 111.
