J., June 11.— The Thoroughbred Horse Breeders Association of New Jersey has started to receive entries for its annual Yearling Show to be held Wednesday, July 13 in the paddock at Monmouth Park. This years Show will be judged by Humphrey S. Finney of the Fasig-Tipton organization. Early returns indiacte that the Colt Class will outnumber the Filly Class by 3 to 1. So far, most of the leading stallions standing in New Jersey are represented, as well as several outside stallions. This may be the last year that the get of Attention will be represented at the New Jersey Show. Although Attentions most illustrious son, Spartan Valor, failed to place in the 1949 Show, two of his sons have won the event in the past. Best Seller, the sire of last years winner, Bunnys Best, will have a contender from Jack and Anne Delaneys Del Brier Farm. The Delaneys have also entered a filly out of vtheir good mare Marsh Marigold, dam of Master Fiddle. Joseph Roeblings Case Ace, who had no color-bearers in last years Show, will be j represented by a brown colt out of ts Zacaweista mare, Epinaza from the Rari-tan Stables of Reeve Schley, and -a brown colt out of Alfred DeCozens Man o War mare Stark War. Casemate Has Colt in Show James Cox Bradys Casemate, whose get may declare to be the best looking youngsters in the state, will be represented for the second year, this time by a bay colt from Anderson Fowlers Glenelg Farm in Peapack. The 1955 Show will make the first time for the syndicated Your Host to be represented at the New Jersey Yearling event. Alfred DeCozen, Velvet Acres Farm, and Meadowview will all show yearlings by that outstanding stallion. There are many other stallions this year who have been represented in previous years, such as James Cox Bradys Basis, J. P. McGurks Sun Egret, Woodland Farms Lighthouse, J. J. Colandos Heath-erbroom, Mrs. W. W. Vaughans Neddie and Mr. Canron, Mrs. Louis Lazares Sheilas Reward, Linda Farms Nathaniel and Lyle few. The THBA of N. J. makes much of the New Jersey news this week for on Wednesday, June 15, Edward Feakes of Woodland Farms, Mrs. Anne Delaney of Del Brier Farm and this writer will particiapte in a panel discussion television program on Station WATV, Channel 13, Newark at 12 noon. The program has been arranged by Dr. Maxwell E. Stone of West Orange, and will be devoted to the activities of the New Jersey Thoroughbred breeding industry for the past year, its growth and the effect it has had on the general economy of the state. Mrs. James Purdey of Greenfields Farm, Holmdel, won the eighth race at Belmont Tuesday, June 7 with her homebred Blazing Home Wait A Bit — Flaring Home, by Flares , which paid a whopping 6.00. The New Jersey Futurity, to be run on the afternoon of the Yearling Show, July 13, closed with the final payment on June 1 with 42 two-year-olds remaining eligible for the 5,000 event. Monmouth Parks first condition book lists tworaces for Jersey-breds. Tuesday, June 14, will be a six furlong event for three-year-olds and upward, non-winners of two races. A maiden two-year-old race for Jersey-breds has been carded for Tuesday, June 21. Dr. John D. Preece of Trenton had considerable good racing luck in New England last week. His bay gelding Zipper Unbreakable — Gotit, by Pompey won on Tuesday, May 30, paying 9.00 and he came back on Saturday, June 4, to pay another 9.00. Preeces two-year-old colt Fraternizer has been sen£ to the University of Pennsylvania for observation and treatment of a possible bone fracture. The trustees of the Thoroughbred Horse Breeders Association of New Jersey will hold a special meeting on Tuesday, June 14, in the directors room at Monmouth Park.
