Rees First Foreign Entry In Tarn OShanter Tourneys David James Rees, better known as Dai Rees, is the first foreign player to accept George S. Mays invitation to play in the tournaments at Tarn OShanter starting August 4. Dai is representing England and has quite an impressive record. The foreign champions are selected by their own countrys professional golfers association. After having been nominated by their ownJPGA, a personal invitation is sent to the nominee by May. This invitation carries with it not only the invitation to play in the Tarn OShanter tournaments, but at Mays expense. The procedure of having each" country, through the professional golfers association, select a nominee to represent their country insures that those invited to compete in the Tarn OShanter tournaments will be at the peak of their professional ability. Invitations to nominate representatives for the 1955 Tarn tournaments have been sent to the following countries: Italy, Austria, New Zealand, Holland, England, Canada, Brazil, Germany, Spain, Egypt, Japan, Panama, Mexico, Finland, Scotland, Denmark, Argentina, Colombia, Portugal, Peru, South Africa, Philippines,. Belgium, Paraguay, Australia, Sweden, France, Switzerland, Chile, South Wales, Ireland, Venezuela, Norway, North Wales, Malaya, Ecuador, Czechoslovakia, Ceylon, Burma.
