A small but well-matched field of seven was entered for Mondays feature, which goes as the sixth event. Highweight of 119 pounds was assigned to F. Parnells Coded Message, while others in the field are Duntreath Farms Pasa-tiempo, W. J. Fords Direct Tint, Clarence Ortliebs Doctor Heitz, N. Rabins Gin Tonic, Mrs. R. L. Reinemans Pine Top. James Sands Steady Jet gets in with 108. Coded Message makes his fourth Balmoral start showing a victory Memorial Day for his best effort. The gelding then finished fifth last Monday at six furlongs over a sloppy oval. Doctor Heitz is making his Balmoral debut, having not started since April 22 at Keeneland, where he ran third. Before that effort he scored a pair of seconds in cheaper company than he meets in Mondays Lightspur. Pasatiempo failed narrowly here last Thursday, losing a photo decision after appearing a sure winner an eighth out in the mud. It was marked improvement for the seven-year-old who sulked in a previous effort at Bowie. Direct Tint makes Jiis second Balmoral attempt, finishing eighth in a grass course test a few weeks ago. It was his fifteenth start of a winless year. Gin Tonic has a win and an eighth in two Balmoral starts. The colt won a mile event here easily May 18, then went unplaced in a grass test Memorial Day. Pine Top has not made the winners circle since 1953 and already has been shut out in two Balmoral attempts. Most recent came last Monday In a six furlongs dash in which he finished fourth. Steady Jet has not won this year,, in 14 outings.
