PERMAN, slow to attain best stride, came fast when guided to the outside for the stretch run and, after taking command, won going away. GASC0NY raced ZAHRA into defeat to reach the lead on the final turn, gave way to the winner at the furlong marker, then held on willingly to outlast PRIZE RING. The latter was unable to improve his position when hard ridden through the late stages. EARLY LIGHT, forced to take up sharply when in close quarters soon after the start, worked her way forward to the stretch, but rallied too belatedly to become an endangering factor. BLUE DANUBE lacked speed. PLATTERPUSS raced wide throughout. RUSH ALONG was outrun. FIGHTING WISE moved up menacingly on the final turn, but tired when placed to pressure during the drive. KINGS PARK retired steadily after flashing brief speed. STANDEE was unable to keep up. ZAHRA quit to a walk. OFF AT 1:55 EASTERN DAYLIGHT TIME. Start good. Won easily; second and third driving. TOP THAT, a sharp factor from the start, took command with a rush when ready on the final turn and steadily increased his advantage thereafter, winning with speed in reserve. UNREST raced THRUST into defeat to hold sway for a half mile, drifted out slightly leaving the final turn, was retarded when brushed by DANDY DAN during the stretch run and as a result was unable to endanger the top one. A claim of foul against UNREST by the rider of DANDY DAN for interference at the head of the stretch was not allowed. DANDY DAN, forced to take up slightly when UNREST drifted out on the turn, appeared to lug in repeatedly during the drive and was unable to be placed to stern pressure. HAM HOCKS, slow to attain best stride, came to the middle of the track for the stretch run, but under stern punishment was not good enough. FRIPPERTY had no apparent mishap. POLEMOS and PLATOON never were formidable. PROMISORY was unable to keep up. CHASED AGAIN began sluggishly and showed nothing. THRUST was through early. Overweight— Ham Hocks, 3 pounds; Promisory, 4. NANS MINK, away fastest, made the pace to the furlong marker under clever rating and continued on gamely thereafter to outlast TARQUITANA. The latter, forced to take up slightly when in close quarters immediately after the start, recovered readily to attain the runner-up position entering the stretch, responded gamely when shaken for the final test and closed with good energy. BORN MIGHTY was compelled to alter his stride when impeded by BESOMER nearing the furlong marker, then finished determinedly when clear. POINT OF ORDER was bothered by the riderless BESOMER and was unable to sufficiently recover. LAWLESS and BROKEN WAY were outrun. TANKER also was slightly impeded by BESOMER. OIL was unable to keep up. DYNAMIC was eliminated when caught in close quarters soon after the start. WILL BE DONE failed to stay. BESOMER lugged in repeatedly during the early running and unseated his rider when his saddle slipped after going about a quarter of a mile. Scratched-51395 Fluellen, 118; Millden, 118. WIGWAM steadily improved his position to take command when ready leaving the final turn and retained a clear advantage thereafter under a mild hand ride. HAM BONE, forwardly placed from the beginning, came to the inside for the stretch run, but was unable to endanger the winner when hard hustled through the late stages. DRY VERMOUTH closed with a belated burst of speed and perhaps would prefer a longer distance. DEEP RIVER was unable to improve his position when the real test came. COMEAWAY, much used early, had little left. ELROSE never threatened. NEW VENTURE and MIDYEAR were always outrun. Overweight— New Venture, 2 pounds. New Venture claimed by J. C. Silverman. EVER BEST saved ground while making the pace to the stretch, faltered slightly when placed to stern punishment thereafter and was unable to cope with the top one. INFORMANT raced in closest pursuit of the leader to the furlong marker, then failed to respond sufficiently when set down for the ultimate test. PEPPERMINT KID lacked a rally. MISS CROW never was dangerous. HILDRIX was unable to attain the lead and tired. LUMINARY raced wide. NOBLE LAD and MAHOUT II. were outrun. SIXTH RACE 1 1-2 MILES. NASHUA, away fastest, raced in closest pursuit of LITTLE DELL during the run down the backstrelch, forged to the front on the far turn when ready and, after attaining a commanding lead nearing the furlong marker, increased his advantage through the stretch, winning as his rider pleased. BLAZING COUNT, forwardly placed during the early running while on the outside, moved into the runner-up position on the final turn, was unable to seriously endanger the winner when set down for the drive, but held on willingly to easily prevail over PORTERSVILLE. The latter, forced to take up slightly when in close quarters on the first turn, recovered readily to remain within striking- distance of the leaders to the stretch, then failed. to respond when called upon for his best effort. JABNEH was always outrun. FLYINGFURY never was formidable. LITTLE DELL, much used setting the early pace, had little left. MR. AL L. saved ground to no avail. RETAMERO never menaced. PRINCE HILL, never far removed from the early leaders, saved ground while improving his position to the stretch, came fast when shaken for the drive, and, after taking command, briskly drew clear. SECANT raced KASTER into defeat to take command during the run down the backstretch, held sway to the furlong marker under clever rating, but was unable to withstand the winner when set down for the final test. ICEBERG II. moved up with a rush to attain the runner-up position leaving the -final turn, then weakened when placed to brisk urging. CANNONADE came out for the drive, but was not good enough.
