Ippolito; bred by A. F. Dye. IN GATE-5:471. OFF AT 5:471 CENTRAL STANDARD TIME. Start good. Won driving; second and third the same. MOKATUCK was many lengths back of the field in the first quarter and trailed for the first half, then improved his position to come fast in the middle of the track through the stretch and catch CASTLE BELL II. in the final strides. The latter was well up from the start and took a short lead after entering the stretch, then held on well. ARETE set most of the pace but weakened after being headed. CLOSE OUT was close enough early and Jiad no apparent excuse. ACE CAPTAIN was prominent to the stretch, then tired. Overweight— Caboose, 4 pounds? Without Kin, 3. Close Out claimed by Duntreath Farm. Attendance/lS; Total Mutuel Pool, ,500,956.
