Hartack Plans Arlington Saddle Campaign Fly Wheel, the good stakes runner for which J. N. and N. M, Monaghan, of Denver, recently paid a large price at the Belmont sales, was expected to arrive at Washington Park late Saturday afternoon in charge of trainer Hurst Philpot. Fly Wheel won the Magic City and Appleton handicaps at Gulfstream Park last winter and should prove a welcome addition to Arlington-Washington Parks stakes ranks. . .Jockey Willie Hartack, one of the leading riders in America, has sent word that he will be on hand for the opening of of the Arlington Park meeting, June 20. This will mark his first appearance here since he won the last Washington Park Handicap, with Pet Bully. Hartack is affiliated with the stable of Mrs. Ada L. Rice, and his engagements will be made by Chick Lang, son of the famous old-time jockey. Hartack rode 323 winners last year arid 350 in 1953, and might have been Jiie American champion but for a fellow named Willie Shoemaker. He is at present second to "Silent Shoe" in the. 1955 jockey race. C. H. "Frenchy" Pinon, whose good mare, Happy Issue, was a stakes runner on Chicago tracks a number of years ago, is an arrival from California with two runners. . .Jockey Willie Boland departed for New York after having ridden County Clare in tlie Balmoral Turf .Handicap. . .Jack A. Allen, trainer of the Double L. Stable, whose horses are running at Omaha, was here the other morning seeking stabling space at Arlington Park... John Soto, a young apprentice boy from Chicago, won his first race on a hometown track Friday. Is under contract to Wilbur Borton and had his initial winner in Kentucky this spring... The dapper Argentinian, Horatio Luro, is due to arrive at Arlington Monday or Tuesday from New York with about 20 head... A man put up quite at tussle with track police before being ejected from the course the other day. His name was John L. Sullivan.
