Flagg; bred by S. B. Newman and T. W. Doswell. IN GATE-5:04. OFF AT 5:04 EASTERN DAYLIGHT TIME. Start good. Won driving; second and third the same. MORDIGAN, never far removed from the early leaders, assumed a slight lead during the run down the backstretch, gave way to AMY ROBSART at the furlong marker and though bearing out slightly during the stretch run came again in the late stages to gain the decision. A claim of foul against the winner by the rider of AMY ROBSART for interference through the stretch was not allowed. AMY ROBSART moved up boldly on the outside to take rtmmand entering the stretch, lugged in brushing with MORDIGAN during the drive, then held on determinedly when straightened. AVON LADY, forced to take up slightly when in close quarters down the backstretch, recovered readily, then was unable to endanger the leaders when set down for the final test. MR. JONES lacked early speed. LEONGS was unable to keep up. MILSPAL never was dangerous. MIDWEST, much used early, had little left. RICODEE trailed throughout. Scratched— 51001 Nairn, 105. Overweight— Amy Robsart, 2 pounds; Mr. Jones, 1. Attendance, 19,942; Total Mutuel Pool, ,871,880.
