Helioscope Works Fast Five Furlongs in :594/s MONMOUTH PARK, Oceanport, N. J., June 11. — Helioscope, handicap star of the William G. Helis, Jr. stable, this morning flashed unexpect-. ed speed in a five-furlong trial over a "good" racing strip. The four-year-old son of Heliopolis, game victor over High Gun in the Suburban and winner of four out of five starts this season, evenly showed keen speed throughout his spin and was timed in :59, which was almost two seconds faster than any other horse was caught at the distance this morning. This was the second time Helioscope has been on the training track since the Suburban, and his speed was surprising in view of the fact that trainer Howard Hausner has reported that he does not expect to start him until the seven-furlong Carter Handicap on July 4, or in one of the other features - early during that month.
