Open Stable Area Monday At Delaware Park Track WILMINGTON, Del.. May 11.— Activity at Delaware Park steps up considerably on Monday with the transfer of administrative duties to the track from the Wilmington office -and the opening of the stable area to accommodate the first equine arrivals. The administrative section links up with the racing secretary, mutuels and admissions departments at the Stanton Track preparing for the opening of the 32 - day thoroughbred race meeting on May 29. Horsemen among the early arrivals will have the benefit of two tracks for conditioning their charges. The main track, widest mile track in the country, spanning 100 feet in the homestretch and back-stretch, will be in use in addition to the training track conveniently located adjacent to the stabling area. The training track infield with brush and hurdle jumps also will be ready for schooling and light training. The jumpers will get down to serious work on or about June 1 when the main jumping courses, brush and hurdle, will be available for schooling purposes. The opening of the stable area signalled the start of the varied recreational program for track personnel under the supervision of Francis "Jock" LaBelle and John J. OBrien. The recreational schedule con- tinues through the conclusion of the season on July 4 and includes TV entertainment, boxing, softball, volleyball, quoits, table tennis and billiards. The modern air-conditioned cafeteria begins operation on a full time basis to coincide with the arrival of horsemen and stable help. ,
