Michigan Notes HAZEL PARK, Mich., May 11.— Dean Gaudet is supervising the training of the mare Maryana while -her husband is busy in Chicago racing their other horse Nostre-bor at Sportsmans Park. Keith Warner, veteran Hazel Park rider, is on hand and looking forward to riding in his home town for the first time. Previously the closest he has raced to home has been Cleveland. Harry Henigman, of Detroit, will try his hand with his first homebred two-year -old, Bully Bayou, a colt by Bully Boy out of Petite Bayou. Henigman intends to expand his breeding activities in the future through the acquisition of the 14-year-old stallion Billy Bumps, a son of Grand Slam. Billy Bumps, who won more than 0,000 for Detroits Bomar Stable a decade ago, will stand at Metamora, outside Detroit. Doug Drennan. who rode for Mrs. Prank Navins Tall Trees Stable at the Detroit Fair Grounds 12 years ago, is training his own horses now. He and his brothers, Jim and Lawrence, have a couple of two-year-olds bedded down here. They are Sleek Bandit by High Bandit and Pay-a-Bit by Wait a Bit. Both are colts. A third member of the stable is the three-year-old filly Navy Fuzz owned by Mrs. Rex Elliott. . Julio Quintero, brother of the fprmer jockey Mario Quintero, has registered two horses, Sky Bim and Baby Tucky. He raced 1 both with success on the Detroit circuit i last summer. Dewey Baker has four horses for his Detroit - patrons, Vincent DeSantis and Ann i Ashley. For DeSantis he is training Witching and the two-year-old filly Jeannie Lark; for Mrs. Ashley he has Little Skeet-er, a three-year-old, and Our Own, a two-year-old. Henry Johnston, veteran Michigan 1 trainer, is preparing the four-year-old fill-trainer, is preparies the four-year-old fillies " Atheneum and Falling Star for the He also will introduce three juveniles, Sa-tilla * Moran, Dusky Gal and Psychic Betty, all Michigan-bred and all fillies.
