Throw out last at Sportsmans. Was in elande quarters. DES PLAINES — Two-year-old who will likely be properly placed. Lost rider last out and won previous effort. VERNS VICTOR — Speed horse who is eligible for non-winners of two races. Could be fair sort. STEVES PAPA JOE — Maiden two-year-old who has been allowing good speed in trials. Could spring a surprise. RIP ROAD — Won five races early this year but did not seem to take too kindly to the Sportsmans turns. Could fare better at this meeting. MASTER RED— Steady runner who is always dangerous in the company in which he performs. Can run in the mud. GRAND CANYON — Has improved since last year and won a stakes in Florida about a month ago. Reported to be a good grass horse. CELESTINO R. — Had some bad racing luck in last outing and may be capable of getting the money in ordinary company. BALLYNETTE— Was in close quarters last time to post or might have been a factor. Could possibly run a good race at a price. EBONY BEAUTY— Took a couple of purses at Oaklawn Park and raced wide in a start at Sportsmans. Worth following. RECLAIM — Bore out on the stretch turn in recent outing at Sportsmans Park or might have been the winner. BILLAGAIN — Was favored in most recent outing and failed to get going soon enough but was a fast-closing second. Keep in mind. CHURCHILL DOWNS WORLD SERIES — Raced disappointingly last time out but. continues to train well. Worked three-quarters in 1:16. handily, recently. IRISH SEA — Recently changed hands and is always dangerous when dropped in with ,500 class middle-distance platers. LADY MELIDA— Maiden two-year-old filly raced impressively in her debut. Is due for early graduation. FLEETBELLE— Was a trifle short when defeated by Big Winner last week. That race may be the tightener for a winning journey. MARK KLAINE— This useful plater comes from a well-trained stable. Recently breezed five-eighths mile in 1:01. NONNIE JO — Good stakes winner last season is rapidly approaching top form. Has been six furlongs from gate in 1 :14%, breezing. EPIC KING — This one-time stakes performer is razor sharp. Stepped a half mile in :4825, handily. PUDDIN — Maiden three-year-old filly gave a sharp effort the first time she appeared under silks. Tab for an early victory. WORRION — Lost ground entering the stretch in last outing here. Capable of trimming same class field with a better break in racing luck. ALTICO — Lacked early speed when beaten by Jestress at six furlongs. Probably will improve off that effort. JET SUB— Exchange Stable three-year-old displayed early speed in the Billings Purse. Dangerous at sprint distances and any track suits. OPEN LAKE— Finished willingly after suffering interference early in a mile and one-quarter race last out. Belongs with ,000 grade platers. JAMAICA ROYAL REVIEW— Is approaching best form since arriving from Florida and a lower priced claimer over a distance of ground should be best medium. TORRETTA — This filly is improving with every start and when properly placed could win a conditioned sprint race. BARZIZI — Debut was impressive here last week. Likely to win a maiden event over a distance of ground in near future. OLYMPIAS ACE— Tab this sprinter. Nfor he is capable of doing much better than shown in last. Allowance company would suit best. GREAT GRANT — Probably needed last, for has been inactive all year. A high priced claimer at six furlongs would seem to suit best. FELICITATION— Was probably best in last for was forced "to take up repeatedly and found racing room too late. A ,000 claimer at a mile or more would seem best spot. NASCO — This well bred colt may graduate at next asking for he was impressive in debut and should benefit from education gained that day. FABULIST — Found his best stride too late in last effort and with a true run he may be able to handle similar company. RED CADET— Was pitched a trifle too down in company with a group of three - f year-olds in a sprint event. I LEONARDIAN— Last indicated this one wants a trifle longer race fnan six furlongs. Tab when in against ,500 company going a mile or more. PIMLICO RACE COURSE CLOUD NINE— Poor showing in last can be disregarded, as she was badly blocked when apparently ready to rally. BRIGHTON DAM— Showed a distinct fondness for this track in winning for ,500 and appears capable of elevation. PHAR LOU— Was allowed to drop too far out of contention in last, then was much used and hung. QUARTER-DECK — Probably needed last race and could improve enough to earn brackets. FELLOW — Has made up *round while sprinting and could be stretched out for next. MORN AGAIN-xShifty filly weakened in first start of year but figures to whip similar company with same effort. ADMIRAL GEORGE— Has always favored this track and may need only suitable spot for score. NALA — Two-year-old in the Bonsai string who has trained well enough to win at first asking. MASUD — Improvement in two races this spring, plus subsequent training, indicates this one is about set for victory. SHOW BRIDGE — Two bad efforts since being claimed but improvement can be expected with drop in company. GARDEN STATE PARK MARES BEAU — Lacked his usual speed leaving the gate but finished gamely in his first local try. Expected to be one of the better sophomore sprinters here. IMAGEM — Appears to be coming around to top form after being away from the races for a couple of years. Has a touch of class and should tee ready at the next asking. TEMPO — Might have been closer with better racing luck his first outing here. Deserves a chance against the same kind. IMMENSE — Looked good in his race here and appears to be coming back to winning form. EMERALD PRINCE — Juvenile maiden broke poorly and rushed to the pace in his debut, then finished a close second to a reportedly good colt. WAR STRETCH — Lacked racing room through most of his race here last week and is capable of better. MIKE S. — A "good thing" in his first race in two years, but broke poorly and had little chance. Used to prefer an "off track. ONYX — Juvenile filly gave a keen effort after breaking poorly and figures to graduate soon. KIKI K. — Turned in good effort after poor form in Maryland. Is at her best over an "off course. « SHANO — Should be ready for a winning effort when entered at a middle distance. LINCOLN DOWNS PLATTERPUSS — May have needed only local race. Could make amends shortly SLICK — Turned in a sharp effort in debut. May have been closer without lugging in in drive. PYONGYANG — Found best stride when too late in last outing. May handle a field of distance platers. TACLOS — Was the easiest sort of a winner when running for ,500. Appears capable of beating better. VIRGINIAN — Last gave indication that this one is returning to peak form with a victory in sight. MISSY ROMAN — A three-year-old maiden who appears ready to leave the non- winner ranks. DIVING BOOTS — Was a serious threat in last when carried very wide into stretch then could not recover. BORDER SON — Failed when heavily backed, but looms capable of making up for that performance. TOP FLUSH— A promising third in last indicates a winning effort will be forthcoming. CARLO C. — Has been unlucky prior two outings. Clear racing room could result in a triumph. CAHOKIA DOWNS CAREFUL DEVIL— At the top of her form. Appears ready to score her initial victory at the meeting. CLAIRBEAU — Floundered in the sloppy going last out. May enter the winners circle in next performance. FOXY GAL — A maiden four-year-old daughter of Fighting Fox who comes highly recommended. Is as fit as hands can make her and could leave the ranks of non-winners when placed right. I FROO — Is at home over the local racing tighteners. Was a bit short in initial T appearance. YELLOW FLY — This consistent mare raced well in only start here and with a little improvement in her next outing may get the job done. GILDED KING — Encountered bad racing luck in last. Can handle the ,000 platers when he gets clear racing room. CHAIN CROCKS— A well-played maiden last week. Was away in a tangle and gave a creditable performance. DONALD O. — This is his home course. Will be placed in a sprint at seven furlongs or less and with ,500 platers. Needed last race. ETERNAL FROLIC— Did not give her best in seasonal appearance. Needs a strong rider and a mile or over. MOON OF HEARTS— Raced well in spots last week. Appears ready to drop down in front with the ,000 platers. BRILL LAM — Runs with the cheapest kind. Is showing steady improvement and may do in her next try. GRIXDALE — Look for this one to enter the winners circle in the near future. Appears to be in excellent condition. BEULAH PARK FAUCON — Trainer Allen Holman has this four-year-old training very smartly and will be very dangerous in first trip post-ward. CHIN CHIN— This four-year-old son of Gab Session has been rested since last fall and the manner in which he has trained for his 1957 debut indicates he will not be long in visiting the winners circle. FRACTICAL — Always dangerous when matched with the lower grade platers. Comes from a winning stable. STANLEY C. — Was a consistent performer at Sunshine Park chalking up some fast times at that oval. Has shown fondness for the local oval in previous years. JUNE STREET— A three-year-old shipped here from Churchill Downs by trainer George Towne. Will earn her share in the better grade allowance events here. THIRD ROW — Is reported razor sharp after racing at Churchill Downs. Tab in first local outing. CLARK — This juvenile from the Gene Sem-ler-trained stable has been most impressive in morning trials. Should lose little time in graduating from the maiden ranks. KING JOE — A former classy performer who will be dropped considerably in company here. Can sprint or go a distance. HY-DAWN — This two-year-old colt has turned in some sparking works over this oval. Look for trainer W. L. Passmore to spot him for a winning effort soon. SANDTOP — Should earn his share of purses at this meeting. Has been training well and will be hard to handle when matched with ,500 middle distance performers. CARDINAL SIN — A recent arrival from Churchill Downs and raced well against good company there. Look for trainer T. H. Stevens to score with him at first asking. RESERVATION— Has plenty of early speed and can run a distance. Should experience little difficulty in handling ,500 " company. HAMILTON OHIO VAPID — In tight quarters last out. Might turn the trick if he finds racing room. TODDYS PRBDE— In good form right now. When running with same kind this one will visit the winners circle. KING ABE— A beaten favorite last out. turning in an effort which was by no means a disgrace. •Will and can do. LETTER PERFECT— Was just nipped at the wire last out. Rounding into peak form and should be returned a winner. DINAH LEA — Caught a tiger in Andado the other day but has to leave the maiden ranks before the current session ends. ] TIN SOLDIER— Ran a corking race to finish second to Cash and Carry — ,000 company will do it. JIM DANDY— When running with ,500 company could take it all. LITTLE MON — Has good speed in morning , workouts and apparently likes the track. Tab this one. I INSIST— Had one start, finished third. Must improve off that race. She possesses the necessary speed to get her down in front next time out. VALLEY BOLD— Likes an "off track to show best effort. Working impressively and cant be denied the winners circle soon. FORT MIAMI BLAZING— Turned in a sparkling effort , in his lone effort at the local oval only to be beaten in a photo finish. A repetition of that showing may find him in the charmed circle next time out. ■ ROYAL FETZKO — Was outrun in the early stages in his last encounter, then rinsPrt with a rush at last in a splendid ] , , effort. Should he break more alertly in next he is likely to garner a purse. BARCLAY JOE— Turned in a commendable effort in most recently encounter and may have needed that race as a tightener. Will bear watching. COUNSELOR ELI— Lost a close one in last and may make amends next time post-ward. Worth tabbing. MACS DAY — Displayed plenty of zip in last and appears to be ready for a winning effort. May score in next. JAM CAKE — Was defeated a scant nose in most recent essay and could make amends the next time out. BLACK STREAM— Was installed as the favorite in last only to be beaten a short nose for it all. Appears capable of taking down a purse in the very near future. NEW STREAM — Displayed plenty of speed here a week ago and on the basis of that performance is apt to account for a purse shortly. REPUDIATE — Closed well in last and may have benefited enough from that commendable performance to be very dangerous in next test. MARILIN MOON— Set the pace for a half mile only to falter in the concluding strides. May forget to stop in next encounter. KENTESSA— A steady going router who is nearing peak form. May appear in the winners circle when placed in a distance affair in the near future. DOOLY — Is a consistent router who can go with the best of them when in a running mood. May score shortly. ASCOT PARK CADRU — Was slow to settle into stride the last time, but once set down, showed a good burst of late foot. Tab for early victory. MUSTARD — Initial outing here showed very brief early foot. May need a race or two but should graduate from the maiden ranks at this meeting. JOELLEN — Has not turned in one of the best efforts possible yet. Was a strong co-choice one day last week but had some difficulty when in tight quarters early. THATS PAPA — Recent graduation from the maiden ranks would indicate this one is rounding to peak form. Another victory is expected soon. NEW CITIZEN — Has been coming on in the late stages of the sprints. Some early foot would help this one to lead from start to finish. HEAD DRAFTSMAN— Just missed in last. May have needed that race as a conditioner for the next outing. SPINDANNY — Last was a beaut when Johns Mable tagged him at the wire. Similar conditions should find him on top from start to finish. JACK SELL — Recent victory so impressive that this one will be difficult to overlook in any event for the same sort of plater. ALMA DECK — A beaten favorite the last time and could redeem on that effort the next asking. SOLDIER BOY — Was in tight quarters leaving the gate the last time, then also ran into difficulty in the stretch turn. Better racing luck will help considerably. • JERRY KELLE — Displayed a wealth of early foot earlier this season but has been coming out of the gate rather slowly recently. Also likes an "off strip. MARK V. — A badly beaten odds-on favor- ite recently. Is capable of handling some of the more formidable platers in this , — .
