Twenty-Six Nominations For Goose Girl Stakes Darling Adelle, Royal Rasher And Market Basket on Roster HOLLYWOOD PARK, Inglewood, Calif., May 11. — Darling Adelle, last years Hollywood Park two-year -old filly queen, and the two misses who ranked close behind, Royal Rasher and Market Basket, topped a list of 26 nominations released today for the 5,000-added Goose Girl Stakes on Tuesday, May 14. Racing secretary John Maluvius announced the roster for the six-furlong sprint, the first of three stakes programmed exclusively for sophomore fillies during the Hollywood season. Darling Adelle has been idle since last summer when she suffered her only defeat at the hands of fillies, finishing second to Blue Vic in the Del Mar Debutante. Prior to that and a fifth place finish in the Starlet Stakes, she had won four straight at Hollywood, bagging the Cinderella and Hollywood Lassie Stakes. It was the Lassie win which gave her the championship, but she was hard-pressed for victory by Fred Turner Jr.s Royal Rasher. The Irish-bred miss failed by only a neck. This winter Royal Rasher won the La Centinela Stakes but dropped a nose verdict to Market Basket in the Santa Su-sana stakes.
