Directors at Hazel Park Schedule Monday Meet Setting of Post Time and Pass Policy Items to Be Considered Special to Daily Racing Form HAZEL PARK. Mich.. May 11.— Directors of the Hazel Park Racing Association will hold a meeting Monday to discuss final details for the tracks forthcoming 62-day meeting scheduled to open Friday. May 24. Such items as post time and pass policy will be decided now that president Richard A. Connell has arrived from Miami and vice president Waldo D. Andrews has returned from a visit to his winter quarters at Santa Monica, Calif. Racing secretary Horace Wade also will be on hand after visiting at the Churchill Downs and Sportsmans Park to line up stables for the Hazel Park meeting. In recent developments Hazel Park won a major victory when the State Legislature overruled racing commissioner James H. Inglis on his post-time rule. Now that the commissioners 3:30 weekday starting time has been struck from the rule book, it is expected that Hazel Park officials will stick to the 3:45 p.m. post they used in 1956. Last years meeting set an all-time record for a spring-and-summer session in Michigan. As for passes, Hazel Park will curtail their use sharply now that Michigan Racing Commission passes have been dropped by Inglis under pressure from the states harness tracks. According to Charles White, vice president of the Michigan division of the Horsemens Benevolent and Protective Association, nearly all stabling problems have been ironed out to the satisfaction of both horsemen and management. During the last 10 days, while track superintendent Paul Talbot worked on the mam track, training was limited to the outer half. Stables are starting to come in from Kentucky and Illinois although the bulk of horses wont be on hand until opening week.
