Ironclad, Crazette Vie j Again at Hamilton Oval Lady Santo, Village Also Among Field for Charles Hpyes Purse By R. E. HURLEY . Staff Correspondent HAMILTON, Ohio, Aug. 21. Nine races have been carded for the first Saturday program at the Butler County Fair Grounds and the customers on hand will see practically the same field aligned in the featured Charles N. Hayes Purse that met in the Inaugural last Monday. Earl Daniels Ironclad, winner of the opening-day feature, will again meet Mrs. Frances Flowers Crazette, beaten favorite of the Inaugural, along with G. W. Morrisons Open Way and F. N. Berrys Little Father, who were also unplaced behind Ironclad. C. Bachelors Anagazandra, E. M. Benshoffs Lady Santo and Connie Johns Village complete the seven-horse field that will meet at seven furlongs. Post time for the Saturday program has been advanced to 2 : 30 p. m. and the crowds are expected to .tax the limits of the Hamilton facilities. The centerfield will be opened all day to relieve the congestion with complete facilities provided for the fans. For the fourth consecutive day the crowd and play were "up" here on Thursday, as 4,317 fans wagered 41,220 that day. The Hayes shapes up a grudge duel between Ironclad and Crazette, with an interesting sidelight in Lady Santo and Village, winners of their . last starts, but meeting better racers in the allowance feature. Ironclad turned the tables here opening-day on Crazette at the same abbreviated seven-furlong distance. Crazette had been backed into favoritism, but seemed to have trouble with the turns, while Ironclad loved the course under jockey Roy Head. Trainer Louis Madonna has named Charles Elder to ride Crazette on Saturday and this veteran may have better results with the mare on the sharp Hamilton turns. Village is the only other winner locally in the line-up, having defeated slightly cheaper on Wednesday. Lady Santo won her last start at Cranwood, but has her work cut out in the Saturday feature. ing the field. The P. M. Ashby representative will carry 111, the same as in his previous races here. Also assigned 111 pounds are Gin Girl, a double winner at the meeting, and Jr. Ireland. Boutonniere gets in at 102 while the lightweight of the field is Isit Cash, at 100. Gin Girl goes in the Dade Park with an unbeaten record at this meeting. She won on opening day, hanging it on a band of better grade platers then came back a week later to score over Lancaster Lady. Both were sprints and the manner in which she won both heats could make every post a winning one since she is a front-runner and has raced the fastest six furlongs at the meeting. Most of the fields are small. The secondary feature, at one mile and To be used as the fifth race, has seven starters all of which have been successful this season. The third is for two-year-olds at five furlongs and this also has seven entered and brings together several winners during the current session. There are also seven in the seventh race at one mile and 40 yards and several winners at the meeting are to match strides while the eighth, the marathon affair, has 12, including Maidens Prayer, a, winner here last Saturday at this same distance.
