CELERITER, away sluggishly, and outrun to the last three-eighths mile, was sent to the middle of the track for the drive, and responding to brisk urging, wore down WAR. DOLLAR to win going away. WAR DOLLAR took an early lead, entered the stretch with a good advantage and held on willingly but was not good enough for CELERITER, CATTARAGUS lacked early foot but finished fairly well under punishment TEACHER K. was outrun and had no excuse. FLINT NIGHT began fast but dropped out of serious contention immediately after the start. HASTY BEE could not keep up.. JERRY MY BOY failed to stay after displaying early speed. PAPA BEAR took command at once, set the pace and saved ground to the stretch, then responded to vigorous handling and held LIEUTENANT safe. The latter lacked, early speed, closed fast under punishment but could not get to the winner. SON AL saved ground throughout in a sharp effort and had no mishap. LOVELY DEVIL raced nearest PAPA BEAR until inside the stretch, then faltered. KONTINU was outrun. PHAELATER tired after racing forwardly placed to the stretch. MOCK BATTLE saved ground from the start, closed gamely when set down in the drive, but was unable to seriously threaten BUT WHY. LITTLE DOC began fast, set the pace to the last quarter mile, then faltered when challenged by BUT WHY. HURRY-SKURRY lacked early speed and raced wide through the stretch. RUSHLAND could not better his position when set down through the stretch. LEVIATHAN tired after showing early sped. REDEAL set the pace for three-guarters mile, then weakened when challenged by HOLLY MAC. MIGHTY MOUSSE showed nothing.-MISS NAP, on the outside throughout, could not reach serious contention. MR.
