Jockey Richard Rossall To Fight Life Suspension VANCOUVER, B. C, Aug. 21. After being suspended for life by he stewards at Exhibition Park race track on Tuesday, jockey Richard Rossall, 17-year-old rider declared Thursday that he was innocent of any wrongdoing and would appeal the decision of the stewards. Cause of Rossalls suspension was an unsatisfactory ride on the betting favorite, Valley Band, who finished second in the featured seventh race. Rossall denied that he "pulled" the horse and said that he was merely a victim of racing circumstances. Young Rossall, a native of Pleasantville, Calif., rode his first winner in April, 1952. His mother, Alma Rossall, gained fame as a rodeo rider and as the winner of many races exclusively for women jockeys.
