STEVIE BOY, in hand while kept within striking distance of the pace, moved readily when roused, came outside to overtake the leaders inside the final sixteenth and was drawing clear. RECEIPT moved to engage for the lead after a sixfurlongs and continued on gamely under stout pressure. CHERYL ANN opened a commanding lead after a guarter mile, dominated the pace until the final turn and weakened. BLUE RUNNER tarried at the start, was put to pressure early, worked his way up on the outside and had nothing left for the drive. Overweight Cheryl Ann, 4 pounds. Blue Runner claimed by B. J. The latter closed stoutly to reach the leader, but faltered in the final yards. RIBBED, forwardly-placed, moved to engage the leaders in the stretch and faltered. ARROGANT rallied mildly.
