Portland Meadows Date Changes Are Approved PORTLAND MEADOWS, Portland, Ore., Aug. 21. At a meeting of the Oregon Racing Board Wednesday, Portland Meadows was granted the additional time it requested which will bring the meeting to a close on October 10th. This makes the meeting go one week longer than originally scheduled. The original closing date was October 3. Due to the fact that there would be no tote machine available for the week of September 1 the Portland Meadows track will be dark. The plant will also be dark the following week during the Salem Fair. Racing will resume here at the Portland Meadows track on September 15 and continue on to October 10 with racing Tuesdays
