KITTY VAN got to the front early and well ridden while making the pace, withstood several challenges and saving ground, was never headed. MASTER RED was always a good contender and made a fair run through the stretch, but was unable to reach the winner. BARSHOE loomed up dangerously an eighth out and went fairly well to the end. ROMAN JEAN made a good move on the outside through the stretch, although racing very wide., HEREDITY closed ground on the extreme outside. INDUSTRIOUS was never a serious factor. MOKATUCK was in close quarters early. BILL BURKE had speed for a half mile. RED SPEED was forced to take up sharply around the far turn. WARDONNA was unable to keep up. Start good from stall gate. Won handily; second and third driving. FAMOUS CORNER moved up on the inside after going six furlongs to save ground and reached contention, then took command after going one mile and withstanding a challenge from BOIS DARC while still under restraint and was not seriously menaced by IDLE PLATTER in the run through the stretch. IDLE PLATTER wfes well placed early, moved steadily in the stretch to finish well but was not good enough. BOIS DARC rushed up on the. -outside when given free rein after going one mile but was unable to head FAMOUS CORNER and faltered in the final drive. THE FLIER passed tiring horses.
