Start good from stall gate. Won driving; second and third the same. SIR FAY was close up from the start and, although required to race wide in the stretch, finished fast to pass AMERICAN PLAN and GREY MIKE and win under urging. AMERICAN PLAN rushed to contention soon after the start and, after following GREY MIKE until well into the stretch, easily disposed of the latter. T0RDAR came gamely through the stretch. LEGATEE was unable to keep up in the early running, but finished fairly well. REPARTEE was outpaced, but saved ground in the stretch. GREY MIKE tired badly in the last eighth. CHALLABAR RAN AWAY SEVEN FURLONGS BEFORE THE START AND WAS ORDERED WITHDRAWN BY THE STEWARDS. MONEY WAGERED ON HIM WAS REFUNDED. DEAR SANDY came strongly in the middle of the track through the stretch and was racing well at the end. STAR DIVER soon raced to contention for second place to the last sixteenth, then faded. SUNBOROUGH bobbled at the start and unseated her rider. WAR WORK, off well, got to the front between calls after leaving the backstretch, was then headed by LITTLE REB around the stretch turn, but saved ground to again take command after entering the last furlong and show the way to the end. CLOSE ATTACK went to the front early and dropped back after being headed but came again on the outside in the stretch. LITTLE REB moved on the outside of WAR WORK on the stretch turn to take a short lead but was unable to,remain in front and weakened in the final sixteenth. DRIP was on the outside in the early stages and failed to threaten, although finishing fairly well. REPRESENT was outpaced and failed to be a contender. AMAFOX in the final tweny yards. The latter went to the front early . and opened up a good lead while making the pace to hold on fairly well in the final drive. MAHPLAY, while always a forward factor, failed to threaten for the leadership. RIGMAROLE racSd steadily through the stretch. . PUBLICK began slowly and was in close quarters early. WABASH MOON, racing as if much the best, was away slowly, then raced up between horses nearing the far turn, but was in close quarters rounding the turn and forced to ease, then came again in the stretch to be forced wide and was joustled, but came gamely again when clear to wear down FLYAMANITA and won going away. The latter got to the front early and saved ground in the stretch to hold on well, but was not good enough. DIANE B. had good speed from the start and went fairly well to the end. SALLY CATBIRD lacked early speed and failed to be a serious contender. TUONINE raced wide. SPIRIT AWAY tired and bore out in the stretch. Overweight Wabash Moon, 1 pound. TOMI BLU went to the frontal once and, showing considerable improvement over his last effort, was never in serious danger of being headed, although prsesed by JUST US GIRLS in the last eighth. The latter was dropped down on the inside nearing the far turn to improve her position steadily while saving ground, but was unable to reach the winner. COMMAND POST was well up in the early stages, but weakened near the finish. MARYLAND LINE soon dropped back to last place and closed ground when too late. BETSY T. and SHADY TUNE were outpaced. SHOTRAL was in slight reserve while racing close up and got to the front on the inside at midstretch, but was unable to last. CARMARGO BILL made up some ground to finish .well up.
