Honor Yerian, Allen Memories HAMILTON, Ohio, Aug. 24. The sixth annual running the Yerian-Allen Memorial Purse will be presented at Hamilton this Sautrday, August 29, honoring the memory of starter Jack Yerian and his assistant Henry Allen. Yerian, who was the official starter at Hamilton for a number of years, was killed in an automobile accident while driving to Columbus with his assistant, Henry Allen, at the conclusion of the Hamilton meet in 1947. Each year the management has dedicated a trophy to the memory of these horsemen and as in the past the widows of both men have been invited to present this award.
