Field of Twelve Clashes In Lorain-EIyria Purse Roaming Oscar Accorded Slight Edge in Randall Park Contest RANDALL PARK, North Randall, Ohio, Aug. 24. A field of 32 has been named overnight to start in the featured Lorain-EIyria Purse, featured attraction here at Randall Park on Tuesday. The race is for three-year-olds and upward and any member of the field may be claimed for ,500. The horses will line up as follows: Kings Tip, Golden Tempest, Roaming Oscar, Big Sweet, and Proud Son. E. F. Lovelaces Roaming Oscar has been rested for the past two weeks and is accorded a slight edge in this contest. His last race was quite good when he defeated Les Abeilles by a length and one-quarter in 1 : 14 over a slow track. That was the third score of the season for the gelded son of Osculator who runs equally as good on a fast surface as the case was on July 27 when he beat Eighty-Eight by a length in 1:13. His only poor race in the past few months was a sixth to The Veep early in August. He was a little out of his environment in that particular contest and is more at home in the Lorain-EIyria. Betsy Marie, who will sport the colors of Clevelanders O. and R. Pollock, stands an excellent chance of scoring here.- She was fourth in her last outing to Mondaval racing evenly most of the trip. Before that race she defeated Ghibli by almost two lengths going six .furlongs. She prefers an "off" strip, but also can perform capably on a fast track which is in the offing on Tuesday. Our Jan won two straight here before tangling with Aubrey Fishbacks Midst, who did not turn out too well for the Nathenson colorbearer. Our Jan rushed up into contention in the first quarter of that race and then flattened out beating just one horse. While running in the cheaper claiming races, however, the daughter of Ambrose Light has been hard to beat and she may score her fourth tally of the season in this event. Of the others scheduled to go postward Kings Tip and Golden Tempest wduld have to be given the call. Trainer M. J. Rosenthal has his stock in excellent condition and won two races on Saturdays program. He will saddle Mrs. Madorskys Kings Tip. Golden Tempest has a world of early foot and one of these days she is going to last it out. Both Big Sweet and Beach Admiral will be making their first starts of the meeting.
