HARVEST TIME took an early lead, entered the stretch with a good advantage but was hard ridden during the drive to repulse LATE BREEZE. The latter, forwardly" placed from the outset, closed gamely under urging but could not reach the top one. C0CK0F-THEWALK raced evenly for a half mile, then finished fast but could not get to the leaders. PHANTOM HEELS failed to stay after showing early speed. HOWARD DEAR was outrun and had no excuse. LOTOFTOWN bumped with WHITE BLAZE at the first turn, recovered and raced fairly well. WHITE BLAZE was never dangerous. KNIGARVIE raced wide. EVAS TOY and OCEAN PLAY were far back the entire trip. ELLSTON gradually worked way forward to the stretch, was sent to the outside for the drive and, responding to vigorous handling, disposed of DOLLARGOFAST in the last sixteenth. The latter, a forward factor from the start, raced SWEET SIXTEEN into defeat before entering the stretch, continued willingly under urging but could not withstand the winner. SWEET SIXTEEN began fast, engaged DOLLARGOFAST for a half mile, then weakened. BOLD BANDIT gave a good effort and had no mishap. SPEEDY GOLD lacked early speed. JACKIES IDOL showed nothing. LIGHT LEWIS, never far back, was sent to the middle of the track for the stretch run and, responding to strong handling, wore down TOP-LATION, then held STRAWBERRYLANE safe. The latter raced evenly for a half mile, closed fast under punishment and was getting to LIGHT LEWIS at the finish. TOP-LATION took command early, raced TOP-DILL into defeat before entering the stretch, then faltered during the final furlong. ENGLISH FLIGHT lacked his usual early speed. TOP-DILL tired after showing early speed. APACHE LOVE began sluggishly. SKY JEEP was outrun. MAIDS LIGHT showed nothing. Overweight Top-Lation, 1 pound. FOURTH RACE 1 MILE.
