Bella Figura Given Washington Call Six Face Homebred Of Brownell Combs Apprentice Rotz Will Ride Count Fleet Miss and Get Weight From Dixie Flyer WASHINGTON PARK, Homewood, 111., Aug. 24. Fillies and mares will be the main attraction on Tuesdays eight-race program at Washington Park. Seven fine distaff performers will contest the ,000 Twilight Tear Purse over a distance of seven furlongs. Brownell Combs Bella Figura and Fairway Farms Good Call appear to be the most consistent of the Twilight Tear field. They will go against Hal Price Headleys Aesthete, Clifford Mooers Miss Traffic, Duntreath Farms Dixie Flyer, E. D. Axtons Gray Challenge, and Mrs. E. K. Weils Gloriette. Among the supporting events on Tuesdays card are the Kankakee Handicap, six-furlong affair for Illinois-bred three-year-olds and older, and the Beau Pere, featuring a band of two-year-olds going five and one -half furlongs on the grass. The Kankakee, an optional claiming dash, has attracted nine starters. The Beau Pere, first turf sprint for juveniles at this meeting, will bring out 11. Bella Figura lost a photo decision to Jo Pilot her only time out here. She will carry 117 pounds Tuesday, taking advantage of the allowance that goes with apprentice John Rotz. The four-year-old Count Fleet filly scored twice at Arlington, one of those being the Modesty Handicap, and was third to Real Delight and Fulvous in the Matron. Popara to Ride Good Call Good Call ran one of her few poor races in the Misty Isle last week when she wound up eleventh. She-ran thirteenth in the Cleopatra at Arlington. Both went to Arab Actress. However, Good Call also has three wins, a second and two thirds for her summer efforts. She will be ridden by Al Popara and will pack 114 pounds. Aesthetes last start was recorded as a seventh in the mile Matron, won by Real Delight. Earlier, the four-year-old daughter of Revoked won over good opposition at the same distance. She gets 111 pounds and the tentative services of Layton Risley, leading rider of the meeting. Risley also has the overnight assignment on Miss Traffic. Aesthete turned in a five-furlong time of 1:00, handily, in a work last Wednesday. Miss Traffic is the latest of the Mooers contingent to appear at this meeting. The five-year-old Boxthorn mares last effort was good for fourth at a mile and one-sixteenth at Hollywood Park. She ran against good allowance company on the coast, and managed to win a couple of sprints earlier at Santa Anita. Dixie Flyer ran second to High Scud at a mile last week. That represents the six-year-old Blue Flyer mares best showing in five starts this year, and the only time she finished in the money. Her first four tries were all at six furlongs. The Duntreath representative has the top load in the Twilight Tear field, 120 pounds. Ken Church will be in the irons. Gray Challenge was eleventh in the Modesty. That was her only appearance since coming here from an eastern campaign, where she raced rather well against better horses.
