Hold Dinner at Saratoga For Grayson Foundation William duPont Presides During Informal Discussion on Reports SARATOGA SPRINGS, N. Y., Aug. 24. With Wiliam duPont presiding at the informal discussion which followed the meal, the annual dinner for the Grayson Foundation was given in the Saratoga clubhouse on Saturday evening, winding up the annual meeting held each season at this old racing- center. The dinner, was, as usual, informal and with no set speeches.. However, Dr. R. E. Shope, chairman of the scientific advisory board outlined his report on the years activity. Although Dr. Shope warned very strongly against over-optimism, he admitted under questioning, that the group was encouraged with the progress made on both virus abortion and equine influenza. The research on this, which the foundation has underwritten at the Universities of Kentucky and Maryland, has discovered an indicated relationship between them and the possibility of perfecting a vaccine. E. B. Benjamin, whose racing colors are carried by entries from Starmount Stable, announced he was doubling his subscription to the Grayson fund, and spoke of the great possibilities the research had, not only for the animal world, but for the human. J. Samuel Perlman, publisher of Daily Racing Forms Morning Telegraph, congratulated the body and offered again the fullest possible co-operation of Triangle Publications, Inc., in assisting to further the knowledge gained by the research. In addition to those mentioned, the following attended the dinner: Clarkson Beard of Kentucky, Carlton F. Burke of California, Dr. J. G. Gatlett of New York, Sidney Davidson, counsel for the foundation, Dr. Rolla E. Dyer, Dr. Harry Schoening, Dr. Mark Allam, Dr. A. L. Bruecknef, Dr. J. Detwiller, Howell E. Jackson, Hirsch Jacobs, Walter M. Jeffords, Cyrus E. Jullien, Edward L. Kilrone, F. S. von Stade, Robert F. Kelley, Nelson I. Asiel and Bryan Field. Dr. B. J. Errington of California, newest member of the scientific advisory board, was also introduced at the dinner.
