Amagansett H u rd le Lu res Aqueduct Field of Ten Sanford Entry of Fulton and Oneida Expected to Be Choice AQUEDUCT, L. I., N. Y., June 29. The ,500 added Amagansett Hurdle Handicap, a test at- about a mile and three-quarters, heads Thursdays eight-race program here and promises to be a keenly contested race. A field of 10 has been named for the race named for the late Thomas Hitchcocks star of some years ago, including three sets of couplings, and they appear to be a well-matched band. The Sanford Stud Farm pair of Fulton, 148, and Oneida, 141 pounds, are expected to be favored, if only because Frank "Dooley" Adams is to ride the consistent Fulton. No rider has been assigned to Oneida, who may be withdrawn, having finished second to Rhythminhim at the same gruelling distance only yesterday. The other couplings in the Amagansett are Mrs. Anson A. Bigelows Par Amour, 142, and Happy Hill Farms Prince Regent, topweight with 115, and L. H. Nelles Dear Brutus, 144, and Llangollen Farms. The Proff, 147 pounds. Several of Thursdays field appeared in the War Trophy Purse at the same distance a week ago. The Proff, a much-improved jumper, who will be ridden by Scotty Riles, won that race from Dear Brutus, who was disqualified for bearing in near the finish. Dear Brutus might have been best, but Earl Phelps, who will be in the irons again tomorrow, was too busy trying to keep his mount straight to " urge him at the finish. Oneida was a fairly distant third, followed by Mrs. F. Eugene Dixon, Jr.s, Mielaison, 131, Par Amour, Mrs. A. W. McGraths Camee, 139, and C. T. Chenerys Permian, 149 pounds. Mielaison set much of the pace in that event and was bothered by Dear Brutus near the end, while Permian, the favorite, stopped badly after a little more than a mile. He had won in good company at Belmont Park.
