ROGATION, off forwardly placed, moved up to challenge RETRACT nearing the stretch turn and, heading him after rounding the turn, held him to the finish under urging. RETRACT caught JOVIAL after going a quarter to open up a good lead and, saving ground, held on with fine courage to the last twenty yards. ROYAL BRIAR raced wide on the stretch turn but finished strongly and was gaining on the first two. TOLLESBORO went to the middle of the track on the stretch turn, but also closed fast. DUKE K. was badly outrun to the stretch, butwas going fast at the finish. ALSAB ACE was prominent to the final eighth, then weakened. MOCK BATTLE was wide on the stretch turn.
